You might not think of yourself as a very funny person. It feels like a big medal to give yourself, doesn’t it? The thought of saying, out loud, to another human being, “I’m actually very funny,” is mortifying. Very funny people don’t need to say it out loud. It’s tempting to think that being funny is like having flat feet or red hair: you’re born with it, or you aren’t. But that’s not true. There are loads of ways to make yourself funnier. And who wouldn’t want to be? Whether you’re at a party, at work or trying to sort out your car insurance on the phone, people gravitate towards funny. Studies have even shown that a strong sense of humour can improve your physical and mental health.
