Luxury is a word that, at least on MR PORTER, we try to reserve for special occasions. It’s a word that’s too easy to drop in, especially when talking about clothes, but defining it is rather tough. In the world we live in right now, what does luxury mean anyway? One man who can be relied upon for a wise answer to that question is Mr Jerry Lorenzo. The mastermind creative behind Fear Of God, Lorenzo has re-evaluated the definition of the word and moved it into a space that feels refreshingly diverse. The clothes he makes have in many ways marked a new direction for modern aspirational dressing, but for the designer it hits on something much deeper than what we wear.
